Major update!

Well I'm not a good blogger, I admit it...but when you have Facebook and it's so easy to update information on my iPhone....you see where I'm going with this... =)

So let me catch you up on my sweet girl ~

We've made it through her first Winter and Spring and she's still managed to stay healthy and well (keep the prayers going that it stays that way for a little while longer!)
She's getting so big; a couple of doctor visits back, we were able to take her off the extra-calorie formula. It's been a while since her last check up but she was over 12 pounds then; the pediatrician was pleased with her growth and says she is catching up to her "actual" age on the growth charts.

Back in May, she started rolling over (finally, she kept trying for the longest time and I remember on Noah's birthday, she finally did)! She doesn't quite have her balance but can almost sit up unassisted. She does roll onto her tummy and props up and starts to get in the crawl position but then you can see it in her face, she's just not quite sure.

Over just this past weekend, one of her bottom teeth finally broke through! AND, the one to the right of it is almost out as well! She is pretty curious about it and uses her hands and tongue to figure out what's going on!

Addi Rose is a funny mess! She absolutely LOVES her big brothers and her daddy - the minute the boys walk in the room (especially her daddy), she's looking their way, cooing to get their attention. It sometimes sounds like she's says "maaaaammmma" but only in the middle of a cry when she wakes up from naps/sleep (does that count?) and I've heard "da" and "ba" but that's about it. What I do hear the most are giggles! Her brothers can make her laugh as well as her "wee-ta" (her abuelita). She is also very ticklish and that usually prompts a bunch of giggles.

Girls are SO different even at the tiny age she is now. Having to wild and busy boys already, it's neat to see how calm she is but at the same time her activity level is busy but a different kind of busy than the boys!

More updates to follow - and updated pics too!

Take care and God Bless,
Addi Rose's mommy

A few more pics.. =)

A busy few days!

Well the last week has been crazy good! We roomed-in at the hospital on Wednesday night (11/18) and Noah and Sam finally got to 'really' meet their baby sister, Addison! They were besides themselves! After all the paper work was done, we were able to speak with the neonatologist, make all of the follow-up appointments for Addison, etc, we were able to come home with our baby on Thursday (11/19) afternoon.

Friday was a day of just relaxing and lounging around (I loved all our NICU nurses but like I've told my patients in the past, I'd rather run into them at Target or the park than at the hospital!)!!!

Saturday we had a little impromptu celebration (any reason for a cake, right?!!??!) so that Uncle Miah and the rest of the cousins could meet Addison and we could celebrate our baby being home!

We've been so blessed and are so humbled by all the support we've rec'd in the last month (wow - can't believe it's already been that long since everything happened)! From such scary situation has come such a beautiful one - we thank everyone for the prayers, it's what has helped to get us through this ordeal and has kept us strong!!! God bless!

Coming home, celebrating and a little RTR!

Pics of Addison from 11/9-13,2009

Tiny toes, BIG YAWNS, sweetness all around!

Mom is better, just waiting on Addison to come home!

MRI is CLEAR!!!! Neurologist feels like what she saw on the last MRI was a direct result of the sudden/quick increase in BP and that the decisions that were made, were made appropriately and quickly! I feel blessed to have angels (u know who u r) in the right place and the right time who took care of me so that I'm sti...ll here today! I'm alive, healthy, have a healthy baby girl and a wonderful family! God bless everyone for all the prayers - they have been helping!!!!

11/10/09 Update

Addison is taking in 35cc's of formula every 3 hours with one of those feedings being by mouth. Today the NP wrote to increase her feedings from 1 x PO (by mouth) to 2 x PO with the rest being still going thru her NG tube....this is a good step! When they feed her PO, she's only taking 10 cc's by the bottle (they only give her about 10 mins to try PO so she won't burn off the calories that she's taking in!). Last night she weighed 3 pounds, 15.8 ounces!!! The neonatologist is thinking that the feedings by mouth will "click" with her in the next week or so....if she can go to all PO feedings with constant wt gain, then she can go home! She isn't on any meds and her VS have been great - breathing on her own, etc. The NICU mgr was planning and said that she thought that she would be out of there in the next week or so, maybe hopefully by Thanksgiving.....that would make it the best Thanksgiving ever!!!!
She had been looking a lot like Sam but now the RNs are thinking she looks more like me!

Mike and I have been splitting our time and he has been really sweet and giving me as much opportunity to see her during the day and then he goes when our house settles down later in the evening. He's there right now and hopefully we'll see how much she's gained (they weigh and bathe, etc at night).

Will be posting some new pics of Addison in her pink - she's super cute and sweet (but I'm a little partial, I know)! =)

Keep the prayers and positive thoughts coming - I know it's helping me stay energized and able to stay positive and going each day! My OB/GYN has me coming back again next week (last week I went and BP was 140/90 and this week it was 120/80 so it's coming down)...I am still on meds to control BP and prevent anything from happening. The follow up that I am most anxious about is neuro on Thrusday - hopefully if I will be cleared then (need prayers especially this week)!!!!

God bless!
Love, Erika
